The University of Virginia School of Nursing is offering

A Program to Help Manage Diabetes
Called Taking Care of Sugar
As part of a research study for
African American Adults with Diabetes

Call for an appointment in November (2009) on a Tuesday between 8:30 am and 6 pm at the Betty Queen Center, 522 Industrial Drive, Louisa, VA

You MAY participate if you&..
Are over the age of 18
Have sugar or diabetes (type 2)
Are African American or multiracial
Can attend 8 group meetings starting either January or March, 2010

If you are able to participate you will:
Learn about medicines, cutting costs, eating healthy, being active, and more
Have free health check-ups and blood tests
Receive books and/or videos to help you learn to improve your blood sugar
Receive payments totaling $100.00 for participating
Child care and money for gas will be provided
