Aphasia
- Difficulty in understanding or producing language due to neurological damage.

- Cognitive-Linguistic Impairment
- Impairment in the neurological substrates of communication, e.g. problems in orientation, pragmatics, memory, attention, judgment and reasoning.
Dysarthria
- Weakness or decreased control of the muscles for speech.

- Fluoroscopy
- A radiological procedure that records a moving image of the muscles of the mouth and throat during feeding and swallowing.

- Disruption of motor programming for voluntary speech movements.
