Barbara Madison Named
School of Medicine's
Employee of the Month
It will come as no surprise to anyone working in the Department of Radiology that Barbara Madison, our Radiology Residency Coordinator, was recently named Employee of the Month. Barbara is much loved and admired by everyone in the department, particularly by the radiology residents and the medical students whom she has looked after for many years. It is fitting that the initiative for Barbara' nomination, which was sparked by Tina Pendleton-Fuller, was overwhelmingly supported by our dedicated group of radiology residents.
Since she assumed the position of Radiology Residency Coordinator earlier this year, Barbara has worked fastidiously to get the paperwork for the residency program into order, and to implement procedures that facilitate the process rather than obstruct it. She has put in countless hours of her time after work and on weekends, rescheduling her personal life to ensure that everything was in order for the end of the school year. Even before she took over the position, Barbara always took a keen interest in the radiology residents, taking care, as only she could, of all those pesky little details that helped everything run just a little more smoothly.
Barbara is frequently the first to help out in any area of the department needing an extra pair of hands, and she makes sure that UVa and the Department of Radiology are a special place to work for us all.
Congratulations again to Barbara, and a thank you to our radiology residents for taking the time to support the nomination process. We are proud of you all.
