Typical Resident Schedule
Each work day begins with Morning Report. Residents and faculty meet and review the patients admitted to the ward and PICU overnight. Following the evening's "headlines," second- and third-year residents present a brief teaching case on a topic of their choosing. Faculty and residents then discuss the topic in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

Noon Teaching Conferences provide an opportunity for informal exchange of ideas between faculty, fellows, residents, and students. The year begins with a series of Acute Care Conferences and continues with topics that include the subspecialties as well as general pediatrics. Most conferences are held during the noon lunch hour in the pediatric classroom on the 7th floor of the University Hospital.

Additional information may be found under the comments concerning a specific rotation (see links above). Better yet, experience the schedule first-hand by walking with an intern or a senior resident through a typical day to get a better idea of what each part of your day would be ike.
