Youthful Brain Intitiative Projects:
Cognition
Kevin Lee, PhD - Stroke
Stroke severely affects the adult and aging population.
Currently, only 2% of patients benefit from drug therapy to treat stroke.
There is a critical need to develop therapies to limit the progression of brain injury that occurs during and after a stroke.
My laboratory is dedicated to finding new therapies to preserve brain function after a stroke.
Jonathan Kipnis, PhD -Cognition and Immunity
My laboratory is interested in the role played by immune cells in shaping structure and function of the brain.
We showed that modulation of immune system is reflected in cognitive function and neuronal plasticity.
Our goal is to develop immune-based cognitive enhancement vaccines - therapeutics that target immune system to benefit cognitive function.
