Inpatient Cancer Nutrition

Services Provided: 

  • Evaluation and assessment of nutrition status
  • Development and implementation of nutritional care plans and goals
  • Weekly follow up for all patients to assess the effects of medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
  • Education provided to patients and family members to optimize their recovery and their nutritional and medical outcomes

Goals of Nutrition Therapy:  

  • To complete and utilize a nutrition focused assessment
  • Guide and support patients through treatment
  • Provide education to patients and family members 
  • Help individuals learn the self management skills to successfully manage diet related risk factors and symptoms of disease and their treatments in an evidence-based, team orientented manner
