A Culture of Giving

Every day, as a critical member of the UVA Health System staff, you give of yourself to provide the best possible care for our patients. Your talents and time make the UVA Health System strong and vital to our community.

When you also choose to make a financial contribution to the UVA Health System, you are investing in a better future — for our patients, for your colleagues, and for yourself. A gift of any size to any area of interest can make a difference by helping to fund attendance at professional conferences, purchase gas cards for patient families, speed lifesaving research, or even aid in the construction of new clinics.

The UVA Faculty/Staff Campaign for Health allows you to support needs across the Health System, including the following.

Make a Gift!All gifts are tax-deductible. For more information, call (434) 243-GIVE or send an e-mail. For gifts of $25 and above, you may also sign up for payroll deduction or give online. 

Areas to Support

Doctor hard at work Staff Development *
Supports professional education for nurses and other healthcare professionals. Recognizes patient care innovations and service improvements made by caregivers. Funds activities to support nursing MAGNET status and recruit and retain health care providers.
Teen Health Center

Patient Care *
Provides meals, clothing, transportation, and other resources to patients and families in need. Funds improvements in patient/family communications and environment. Supports programs and activities to help patients and families manage their healthcare.

Couric Building Detail

Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center *
Helps complete the building and strengthen efforts to fight cancer in our community. Donations of $250 and above will be acknowledged with an engraved paving brick bearing a name or brief sentiment. To order your brick, click here.

UVA Children's Hospital Family Fund *
Funds non-medical needs of hospitalized children and their families. Provides gas and meal cards to families, and comfort items, such as teddy bears, for young patients. Supports parents so they can focus on their children's needs.

Medical Education
Provides unrestricted funding that may be used to support scholarships, facilities, and programming. Scholarships help to make medical school possible for all students, while excellent facilities and programs help UVA offer the best possible educational resources.

UVA nursing graduate

Nursing Education
Provides unrestricted support for the emerging needs of students through merit and need- based undergraduate and graduate scholarships and funding for student organizations. Funds faculty professional development opportunities and research awards. Learn more.

An opportunity to select a specific area of interest, such as a department, center, research program, or building, that you wish to support. (As with any charitable contribution, you cannot make a gift to an account over which you have financial control.)
