The UVA Campaign for Health began in 2006.
The Campaign for Health
The Campaign for Health was launched in 2006, with a goal of raising $500 million in support of medical and nursing education, groundbreaking research, and lifesaving patient care initiatives across the UVA Health System.
In 2010, thanks to the outstanding generosity of its benefactors and friends, the Health System surpassed this initial goal — 21 months ahead of schedule. Learn more.
Such a monumental achievement warrants celebration. And yet, in a time of increasing budget cuts, continued fund-raising is now even more urgent and important. To build on existing momentum and lay the groundwork for future advances in health, a bridge campaign has begun, that will last until the end of the University-wide campaign in 2011.
The Health System Bridge Campaign will allow UVA to follow through on promising translational research projects, building projects, and clinical care initiatives begun during the campaign. It will also help us dramatically enhance the way we teach medical and nursing students, and provide more resources for students with unmet needs. Funds raised will allow the Health System to explore new initiatives and aspirations and continue fostering powerful synergies between different schools or areas within the University. Our Valued Volunteers
Volunteers play a critical role in Campaign for Health and the success of our Health System programs. They lend their energy, their vision, and their counsel to make our programs stronger. Development volunteers, who are often community leaders and among our key supporters, help us identify major needs, promote our programs, and map a vision for our future.
