Purpose of your poster: To share your experience working on global health issue with your peers at UVa.
Poster components:
4' x 4' space
Title at the top
9 slides, created in powerpoint. Use large font and pictures as appropriate.
We recommend that you print out each slide on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. We have a color printer in the CGH office which all are welcome to use (just send us your powerpoint file and we will print it.) A poster board and push pins will be provided for everyone.
Slide content -
#1 - #3 Background to health issue you addressed (why is it important?) and setting (Description of country, clinic, police station, etc where you worked and who you worked with).
#4 What research questions did you address.
#5 Methods used to investigate your research question.
#6 What did you learn about your research question and otherwise.
#7 Service - description of service your provided while abroad.
#8 Recommendations (for future work in this area, for students to go in your footsteps).
#9 Personal background, your major, your past experiences, Contact information for you, your UVa mentors and your host mentor.
