Integrated System

Get Integrated System (IS) access and training*

• The Integrated System houses HR and financial information for the University.  An Oracle database houses the IS. 
• To use the system, you must complete a confidentiality agreement, an application for access (click here for information on filling out the form)  and training classes. 
• To run the system, you must have a “Virtual Private Network" (VPN) account, and you must install the Oracle initiator.  You should also have the Discoverer program installed so that you will be able to run detailed reports. 

Steps:

1. Visit: Integrated System (Oracle) Homepage (please bookmark) 
2. From the left side menu, choose "Getting Started”
3. First, choose “Data Security Contacts by Organization” and search by your organization number to find your department’s “data security contact" - you'll contact this person to sign your application for access.
4. Install J-Initiator - follow the instructions on the IS "Getting Started" page.  Stop at step 19.
5. Install the VPN program and get a VPN account for Oracle – a VPN is a “Virtual Private Network,” an extra layer of security required to be running before you will are able to access the Integrated System. Again, follow the instructions on the IS "Getting Started" page.
6. Ask to have "Discoverer" installed - Discoverer is a separate reports-generating software that downloads data from the IS nightly.  Ask your data security contact to arrange the installation (it is installed from a CD).
7. After you have turned in the paperwork*, you will receive an email letting you know you have an Oracle userid.  With this, you will be able to launch the self service web application to view and register for IS training classes. 

*Getting the Integrated System running requires multiple process steps (paperwork is routed to a few different offices). It takes time.  It is important to initiate this paperwork quickly so you have as little delay as possible.
